To the Future (未来へ--- Mirai he---?) is the 498th and final chapter of the Area no Kishi manga.
Summary[]
After graduating high school, everyone has made the pros and participating in the World Cup Finals. A promise finally realized between three childhood friends, Kakeru's everlasting dream continues on the field!!
Synopsis[]
In the evening match, the World Cup semi-finals take place between Japan vs. Brazil. As the characters from the order below clash against each other. Brazil makes the shot, but was quickly stopped by Mikiya's one-handed catch, and Japan counterattacks through vigorous teamplay by Kota's dribbling, Haruka's assist, Yusuke's and Araki's strategy, until making the last pass to Japan's ace striker, Kakeru Aizawa makes the point 3-2.
The matches steps back revealing just to be a pad video footage, watch by Kakeru until Nana approaches. Nana and Kakeru reflect about how their childhood dream about making it into the World finals has finally come true, with Suguru in their hearts. Nana tells Kakeru to group with the other Japan Representatives (revealing a ring on her finger), which Kakeru nods.
The World Cup finals starts with Japan vs. Germany, with Kakeru, Araki, Takajou, Yuusuke, Haruka, Iwaki and Asuka as the chosen players. With his beloved and family and support characters in the audience; Enoshima's SC, the other soccer clubs and past characters watching the match on TV, the match starts as Kakeru and Carl face each other again. With their childhood dream in the brothers' "heart" about to be realized, Kakeru kicks off!!!
